How to lose weight and belly fat, if you ask? Well you have probably by now seen many fad diets and come across a lot of advertisements offering diet pills and making absurdly unrealistic claims that you can lose a huge amount of weight very quickly with minimal effort. Unfortunately, none of this is true but losing weight is not have to be complicated and it does not have to be a big chore to loose belly fat.

The first and most important thing is to keep your ambitions realistic and be patient. Losing weight requires you to spend a bit of time and commitment and making some basic changes to your lifestyle which will be there permanently. If you go on a fad diet, or even worse, some medication, you will only find a problem returning in the future once you have finished the program and, worse, you could find such programs are actually damaging to your health in other ways.

Skipping meals and trying to starve yourself is completely counterproductive, as it leaves you open to all sorts of medical issues and it slows down your metabolism. To speed up your metabolism, you should start by eating properly and at the right times of day. Having more meals but smaller portions every time will help to speed up your metabolism and this way you will lose weight even when you are sleeping.  For example, if your caloric intake is 1600 calories a day, you can divide that into 5 meals which gives you roughly 320 calories per meal

Exercise also cannot be avoided is you want to loose belly fat. Exercise is offers you a number of advantages and not just losing weight. Take a walk around for an hour a day rather than sitting watching television or being in front of the computer. If you change your eating habits by eating 5 times a day and walking an hour a day you will notice a very considerable difference after just a few months, which is a realistic and healthy result. Don’t forget that if you want to lose weight and belly fat quickly, you will need to have some patience and commitment.
